The Victor Stevenson Engineering Scholarship is open to nominated students from Ecole secondaire catholique de La Verendrye, Geraldton Composite School, Hammarskjold High School, Lake Superior High School, Manitouwadge High School, Marathon High School, Nipigon Red Rock District High School, Sir Winston Churchill C&VI, St. Ignatius High School, St. Patrick High School, Superior C&VI and Westgate C&VI.

‣ 
 Each school is asked to select One (1) most qualified student pursuing a university degree and career in engineering at Lakehead University for consideration by our Grants & Scholarships Committee.

‣ 
 Students may not apply directly to the Foundation for this scholarship.

Eligibility

The Victor Stevenson Engineering Scholarship is open to applicants who are pursuing a university degree and career in engineering at Lakehead University.

Applicant must be in their graduating year of a Thunder Bay High School.


Applicant must have a minimum overall average of 80% in all Grade 12 credits (includes finals for 1st semester and
mid-term marks for 2nd semester.)


Applicant must be seeking full-time admission to Lakehead University in an undergraduate engineering program.

Applicant must have demonstrated community involvement and volunteer activities.

Eligibility criteria

Each school is invited to nominate ONE (1) student for this scholarship.
The Community Foundation evaluates applicants in the following four areas.


Each area is weighted as follows:

  • Academic performance (30%);

  • Involvement in school and community activities (30%);
  • Reference letter (10%);
  • Essay (30%);

Only successful applicants will receive notice from the Foundation.


All decisions are at the sole discretion of the Board of Trustees and are final.

Scholarship Applications are due by 26 April 2013.
