  • Duration of the Undergraduate scholarships: Grant for the duration of the student’s programme of study.
  • What does it cover?-The bursary will consist of a full tuition fee waiver in addition to a maintenance grant for the duration of the student’s programme of study.
  • Annual renewal of the bursary is subject to good academic progress by the student.

  • Two further UWC students will receive full tuition fee waivers, regardless of their fee status. Annual renewal of the fee bursary is subject to good academic progress by the student.


  • UWC(United World Colleges )and Kings College London, the Schools of Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences & Public Policy, offers a scholarship scheme to facilitate full-time undergraduate study at King’s for three United World Colleges alumni each year.
  • With this scheme, King’s supports and endorses the ethos of United World Colleges: to make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future and to deliver a challenging and transformational educational experience.
  • King’s values the impact that United World Colleges students have on the King’s student body at both an academic and community level and strives to educate its students to become global citizens.


To qualify for UWC and King’s College London Undergraduate Scholarships , candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Must have graduated from United World Colleges no more than 12 months prior to applying for the scholarship.

  • Academic Merit – based on past performance, results, references and potential to succeed at King’s College London;
  • Character Statement – all applicants are required to complete a personal statement discussing extra-curricular activities and interests. The statement should outline how the receipt of the scholarship will develop the applicant personally and professionally;
  • Financial Need – all applicants will be required to submit information of a financial nature to King’s College London to enable the Student Funding Office to undertake ‘financial needs analyses’. These documents will include; o evidence of household income from parents/guardians such as wage slips, letter from employer, tax documents, etc; o evidence of savings of your parents/guardians (bank statements);
  • o evidence of funding (student loans/grants); o evidence of any other finance aid (scholarships, prizes, bursaries etc).
  • All applications must be submitted by the specified closing date each year. Applications received after the submission date will not be considered under any circumstances.
  • Apply for admission through UCAS by the January deadline for a full-time undergraduate degree programme in the School of Arts & Humanities or Social Science & Public Policy at King’s and firmly accept their King’s offer.
  • Applicants should familiarise themselves with the UWC Scholarship Applicant Guidelines to ensure they meet the application criteria and understand the parameters for the continuing receipt of the scholarships for the duration of studies.
  • King’s will contact all scholarship applicants with the outcome by March 2013.

Scholarship Application Method

  • You must apply for admission to Kings college through UCAS to be eligible to apply for a United World Colleges Undergraduate scholarships.
  • If King’s makes you a conditional or unconditional offer to study, you will be invited to apply for a scholarship in December 2012, and to supply additional financial information to show eligibility.
  • Applications for scholarships have to be complete with a valid UCAS application number and submitted by the deadline to be considered for funding.
  • The deadline for applications to be received is Friday 11 January 2013.
