Singapore-MIT Alliance Graduate Fellowship at SMART in Singapore , and applications are submitted till 19 December 2014. The Ministry of Education has launched a prestigious Singapore-MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Alliance (SMA3) Graduate Fellowship for doctoral graduate education and research at SMART Centre. The Fellowships are open to students of all nationalities who gain admission to any PhD programme at the University where research interest fits within one or more of projects currently being carried out in the following SMART Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs). Scholarship Duration: The award is tenable for 1 year in the first instance; but subject to the Fellow’s satisfactory progress, it may be renewed annually. The maximum period of award is four years.

Scholarship covers: Award amount includes:

  • A monthly stipend of S$3,200
  • Cover all tuition fees at NTU and other compulsory fees

A travel grant of S$12,000 to help cover the expenses associated with a six-month research residency at MIT (travel grant covers airfare; MIT housing; MIT visiting student fee and health insurance).

The Ministry of Education has launched a prestigious Singapore-MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Alliance (SMA3) Graduate Fellowship.

These 4-year SMA3 Singapore-MIT Alliance Graduate Fellowship are available for highly talented doctoral graduate education and research for students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS) who wish to conduct their research at Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre.

Eligibility




‣ The Singapore-MIT Alliance Graduate Fellowship is open to students of all nationalities who gain admission to any PhD programme at the University where research interest fits within one or more of projects currently being carried out in the following SMART Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs):


  • BioSystems and Micromechanics (BioSyM)
  • Centre for Environmental Sensing and Modeling (CENSAM)
  • Future Urban Mobility (FM)
  • Infectious Diseases (ID)
  • Low Energy Electronic Systems (LEES)
  • The student must have graduates with an undergraduate degree at the level of a first class or second uppers (equivalent).

Terms and Conditions:

‣ Successful candidates will be required to observe the terms and conditions for the award of the Fellowship. A copy of the current terms and conditions will be sent to the applicant together with the offer letter.

Selection Criteria for Singapore-MIT Alliance Graduate Fellowship

‣ Successful candidates will be required to observe the terms and conditions for the award of the Fellowship.

Notification:

‣ Successful candidates will be informed of the outcome of their applications from 1 June 2015 onwards. Short-listed candidates may be invited to a face-to-face interview either in Singapore or their home country, or may go through a phone interview.

‣ Applicants will have to submit their application for the Fellowship cum Ph.D. candidature.
