Description

The principal aim of the Salzburg Summer Academy of Fine Arts is a wide variety of artistic production.

We offer courses and workshops focusing on painting, drawing, graphic arts, sculpture, stone sculpture, video, photography, installation and performative art.

In an intensive and inspirational working atmosphere, prominent international artists, positioned within current discourses and concerned with contemporary questions, offer instruction in both new and traditional techniques.

The programme is marked by high productivity and vigorous discussion; the classes offer both individual conversation and group discussion, aiming at individual artistic development and creativity, as well as introducing innovative and experimental approaches to art production.


GRANTS

Some 90 grants, usually covering tuition costs only, are available for participation in one of the classes at the Summer Academy.

Additional subsidies for travel and living costs are offered by the American Austrian Foundation (AAF), ERSTE Foundation, Free State of Bavaria, and Münster Academy of Fine Arts.

Applications for these grants should be made directly to the granting bodies, according to their guidelines and closing dates.

The Eastern Europe grants awarded by the Summer Academy also include travel and living costs.

Applications for all other grants should be made, online only, via the Summer Academy.

The grant application also counts as the application for a class (so need not be made separately).

The closing date for all applications is 10 April 2013.

The Salzburg Inter. Summer Academy of Fine Arts offers Eastern Europe grants for art students from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine. Grants include € 200.– per week for living costs.

Eligibility

Candidates must meet the following criteria to avail Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts.

must be in one of the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine.

Scholarship Application Method

For applying please make a file upload It is not necessary to apply for a special grant, applications should contain the following:

  • Application form for grants(http://www.summeracademy.at/Grants_94.html)
  • Brief informative curriculum vitae
  • Statement on the reason for applying and what you expect from participation in a course at the Summer Academy
  • Portfolio, approximately 10 photographs of your work (for the curatorial courses a portfolio is not necessary)

Scholarship Applications are due by 10 April 2013.
