Description

  • North Dakota State University Academic & Cultural Sharing Scholarship offers international undergraduate students the ability to pay at 50% of the non-resident base tuition rate only, currently a savings of about $8,200 per year.
  • This offer is available to all undergraduate international students who qualify for admission at North Dakota State University.
  • Given the nature of the grant, recipients are expected to share their cultures with U.S. students, faculty, staff and members of the community in activities that are both academically and culturally beneficial.
  • This will enable people to increase their knowledge of the cultures and countries where the scholars come from and gain a better sense of the global society.

Eligibility

  • This scholarship is available to all undergraduate international students who qualify for admission at North-Dakota-State University , hold F-1 student status, and continue on a semesterly basis to uphold the necessary academic requirements as well as meeting the ten hour per semester cultural sharing requirements.
  • The application will be reviewed as soon as it is received and a decision will be made after you have been admitted to the University.

Requirements

  • Prospective international students are invited to apply for North-Dakota-State University the Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship by completing the application.
  • The application will be reviewed as soon as it is received and a decision will be made after you have been regularly admitted to the University.
  • Once awarded, grants are renewable as long as the NDSU student maintains the following requirements: Attend the entire International Student Orientation during your first semester at North-Dakota-State University. Attend a grant informational session at the beginning of each semester. Hold F-1 student status (with a valid I-20). Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA (grade point average) your first semester and thereafter a CGPA of 2.5 or above. Register and maintain at least 12 undergraduate credits each semester. Complete 10 hours of qualified cultural sharing or volunteer services each semester. (See examples of qualified services at the bottom of this page.)
 **Students graduating in May or December of each year are required to submit 10 hours for that semester to remain eligible to keep the scholarship for that term. You have never been found to be in violation of the NDSU Student Code of Conduct Timely report your service hours to the Office of International Programs (2012-2013 deadlines to be announced).

Reminder

  • Because it is a privilege to receive a scholarship from a university, the OIP must ensure that the students who receive the scholarship meet certain requirements in order to remain eligible and that the recipients are good representatives of the North-Dakota-State University student community.
  • Students who lose the scholarship for any of the above reasons are not eligible to receive the scholarship again. Unfortunately, no appeals are possible.
  • Full scholarship guidelines included in the Scholarship Application, below. Also, please do NOT include the scholarship award as part of your funding when filling out your Financial Certification form.
  • If you are admitted to NDSU and are awarded a Scholarship, you will be notified by letter and your I-20 will reflect the amount of the award.
