Other topics might include focus on hepatitis/liver disease, HIV/AIDS, joint disease/orthopedics, women’s health, or other therapeutic modalities pertaining to bleeding disorders.

Hemophilia Foundation deems them justified by the research, permitted under the institutional overhead: (All expenses must be accompanied by justification – use additional pages, if needed).

  • Salary and fringe benefits for the fellow.
  • Equipment and supply expenses necessary to fulfill the project’s specific aims. (Also, if purchased solely with NHF funds, equipment should reside with the project for which it was funded.)
  • Equipment expenses may not exceed $3,000 in any given year.
  • Travel expenses:
  • directly related to the implementation of the research;
  • Expressly and solely for the purpose of reporting the results of NHF-supported research at suitable scientific or medical meetings;
  • Limited to $2,000 maximum per year.
  • Costs associated with publication of the funded research.
  • Costs associated with making the products of the research (i.e., cell lines, DNA, protein, and other biological substances) available to others for research.

Applications are invited for Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Research Fellowships for the year 2016. Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

These fellowships are offered to provide a long legacy of support for basic science and pre-clinical research in bleeding disorders.

The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) is dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for inheritable bleeding disorders and to preventing the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this NHF Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Research Fellowships :-

Candidates for the JGP Postdoctoral Research Fellowship must have completed doctoral training and apply for the JGP fellowship award from a doctoral, postdoctoral, internship or residency training program. Individuals with more than six years of experience since completing doctoral training are not eligible to apply.  Established investigators or faculty members are also not eligible.

U.S. citizenship is not required, but prospective candidates must be affiliated with a U.S.-based organization (such as a university, college, hospital, government agency and/or lab). Only investigators associated with a non-commercial institution will be eligible for NHF grant funding.

The NHF Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Research Fellowships recipient will be expected to spend at least 80% of their working time on the funded research project. The remaining 20% may be devoted to teaching and/or other clinical/research work at their institution.

The NHF Judith Graham Pool Postdoctoral Research Fellowships award recipient and his/her mentor(s) are expected to remain with their institution for the duration of the project being funded. Letters of support signed by appropriate officials of the institution will be required as part of the application.

Entrance Requirements: Candidates for the JGP Postdoctoral Research Fellowship must have completed doctoral training and apply for the JGP fellowship award from a doctoral, postdoctoral, internship or residency training program.

Test requirements: -TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores are the most common language requirements for American universities.

Most North American universities will accept either test as proof of your English language ability. You can take TOEFL and IELTS exams at testing centers worldwide.
