Initial Expenses

  • Students receiving a scholarship from the Hebrew University are required to have funding for their initial out-of-pocket expenses in October and November, approx. $2,000. The monthly scholarship allowance begins December 1.

‣ Accommodations

  • There are student dormitories on campus where international M.Sc. students usually reside. The dormitory rent varies according to the type of accommodation.
  • The most common accommodation is a basic double room, which in 2012-13 cost approx. 2,600 for the year ($217 per month). Single dormitory rooms, if available, are approx. $317 per month.
  • Off-campus apartments are generally more expensive and difficult to find.
  • The Division for International Studies does not handle apartment rentals.
  • For scholarship recipients, the dormitory rent is deducted from the monthly scholarship allowance

Hebrew University Administered Master Scholarship in Animal Science is offered by Division for International Studies, the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food & Environment in Rehovot, Israel, 2013. The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment is the only institute of higher education in Israel offering university degrees in agriculture.

‣ Established in 1942 as the Institute for Agricultural Sciences with 21 masters students, the Faculty today has a student body of 2,300 students. in 15 study programs.

‣ The Faculty is graded as one of the top 30 faculties of agriculture worldwide and as one of the top 5 in scientific impact.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria to avail Hebrew University Administered Master Scholarship in Animal Science

‣ pay Application Fees

  • $80 early application fee: November 15, 2012 – March 15, 2013
  • $100 late application fee: March 15 – April 30, 2013

Pays Round-trip Airfare to and from Israel

  • The student is responsible for paying all airfare and/or other transportation

Pays Enrollment Deposit

  • A $500 enrollment deposit is required from all candidates offered a scholarship through the Hebrew University.
  • The deposit is to be paid upon the candidate's acceptance of the scholarship offer.
  • The deposit will be refunded to the student at the end of the program.

Pays Tuition Deposit

  • A $1,000 tuition deposit is required from all candidates enrolling in the program and paying tuition from their own funds.
  • The deposit will be deducted from the full tuition payment.

Meets Admission requirement of the university which is indicated below

  • M.Sc. in Animal Sciences - Requirements For Academic Admission
  • A B.Sc. degree in agriculture, animal sciences, biology or related subjects from a recognized academic institution, with an average grade of at least 75 (B on the American scale).
  • A high level of proficiency in all English skills (at least 89 on the computerized TOEFL scale or documentation of previous academic studies conducted in English).
  • Experience in a related field (recommended but not compulsory).
