Cleveland Clinics Administrative Fellowship Program, 2016-2017


Cleveland Clinics Administrative Fellowship Program, and applications are submitted till October 3, 2016. Cleveland Clinic’s Administrative Fellowship Program is a 12-month postgraduate training program available for international applicants. The year-long, project-based Administrative Fellowship is geared toward highly motivated individuals with practical experience in the healthcare environment. Qualified applicants will have a Master of Health Administration or equivalent course work completed from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Management Education (CAHME). The Administrative Fellows will receive a stipend competitive with similarly structured programs and other benefits too. Full details:

Benefits(Value/ Inclusions):

‣ Award No: Up to 6 fellowships will be available.

‣ Scholarship Duration: Fellowships will be available for the 12 months duration.

Scholarship covers: The Administrative Fellows will receive a stipend competitive with similarly structured programs. Benefits include the following:
-28 days of paid time off (including holidays, vacation, and sick time)
-Medical coverage through the Cleveland Clinic Employee Health Plan at the employee rate
-Employee health plan includes free onsite gym membership as well as other health and wellness classes
-Payment of travel, lodging, and dining expenses to attend one healthcare related professional meeting or seminar
-Opportunities to take educational and leadership development classes offered by Cleveland Clinic and its affiliates
-Fellows will be provided work space and adequate resources to support them during the Fellowship.

Description

‣ Cleveland Clinics Administrative Fellowship is a 12-month post-graduate training program.

‣ The fellowship is project oriented, and gives the fellows numerous opportunities to participate in projects throughout the Foundation.

‣ The program is geared to the self-starter who has had some practical experience in the health care environment.

‣ The Fellowship Program is sponsored by Executive Administration and jointly directed by the Department of Operations and Clinical Institute leadership. Cleveland Clinic offers outstanding projects for fellows in a variety of operational, clinical, strategic growth and international arenas.

Under the mentorship and guidance of the program directors and other executive and senior leaders, the fellows gain excellent career experiences in leading-edge areas of management.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Cleveland Clinics Administrative Fellowship ,

‣ Qualified applicants have a Masters degree (MBA, MHA, MHSA) or equivalent course work completed from a U.S. based university.

‣ Preferred applicants hold a Masters degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Management Education (CAHME); however, applications from non-CAHME programs will be accepted for review.

‣ International applicants are welcome to apply.

Notification:

‣ Up to six fellows will be selected for 2015-2016 in the 4th quarter of 2014. Candidates invited to interview on-site will participate in a day-long series of individual and panel meetings with various Cleveland Clinic administrators and executives.

‣ Candidates should plan on arriving the day prior to interviews for a tour of the facility and dinner with current and past fellows, the preceptors and others committed to the success of the Administrative Fellowship Program. Overnight accommodations and full reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided.

Scholarship Application Method

Cleveland Clinic Administrative Fellowship Program will accept applications directly through NCAF’s National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS), beginning July 19th – October 3, 2016.

  • Graduate letters of recommendation (one academic and one professional)
  • Official graduate school transcript
  • Official or unofficial undergraduate transcript
  • Essay Questions:

Essay Question #1 (one page maximum):
Explain how an administrative fellowship will help you attain your career goals and how a Cleveland Clinic fellowship complements these goals.

Essay Question #2 (one page maximum):
Which disruptive healthcare technologies will have the largest impact on the healthcare industry in the next 5-10 years and why?

Important Dates

  • NAFCAS will be open to applicants on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 - October 3, 2016
  • Complete applications must be submitted online or received (not post marked) via mail by Monday, October 3, 2016
  • Onsite interviews will be conducted on Wednesday, October 19 - Thursday, October 20 or Tuesday, October 25 - Wednesday, October 26
  • Up to six fellows will be selected and notified of the offer on Monday, November 14, 2016
  • Fellowship year begins July 1, 2017 and ends June 30, 2018
