Description

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) is a not-for-profit multimedia organization operating two broadcast services: AMI-audio and AMI-tv, and a website (AMI.ca).

A third broadcast service, AMI Français, will launch in early 2015. Serving more than five million Canadians who are blind, partially sighted, deaf, hard of hearing, mobility or print restricted, AMI’s mission is to make accessible media for all Canadians.

They are proud to announce the 2014 AMI Scholarship Program.

Two scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded, one of which will be reserved for a student with a permanent disability.

Eligibility

To be eligible for AMI Scholarship Program, applicant must fit the following criteria:-

Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada

Be a student planning to enrol, or continuing to be enrolled, in full-time studies in a diploma or degree program at a Canadian post-secondary school in the 2014/2015 academic term


Students who attend or will be attending a Canadian post-secondary school in the 2014/2015 academic term in a reduced course load due to a permanent disability, but who are still considered by their post-secondary institution to be full-time students, are also eligible.

Selection Criteria:

A judging panel and Scholarship Program administrator, yconic (parent company of Student Awards), will be responsible for evaluating the written entries based on the following considerations/criteria:


  • Creativity/originality

  • Clarity of thought and communication of content

  • Feasibility of ideas

  • Use of personal experiences

Notification:

The top 10 finalists will be notified in early July 2014 and winners will be confirmed in August 2014.
