2017 KSP Mobility Grants for Student Project in Arab World or Gulf Region, and applications are submitted till 31 October 2016.  The Kuwait Program at Sciences Po (KSP) offers mobility grants to support student projects in the social sciences and the humanities with special emphasis on the study of the Arab World and the Gulf Region. Eligible students are those who are enrolled in the Undergraduate College of Sciences Po from all campuses, who will be in their third year in 2016-2017 and who are planning to do an internship in the spring 2017 in the Arab World or the Gulf Region. Each selected student is awarded up to 5,000 Euros. Full details:

Beneficiaries(Target Groups): 2017 KSP Mobility Grants are targeted for Sciences Po students of all nationalities

Benefits(Value/ Inclusions):

‣ Award No: Every year multiple grants will be awarded.

‣ Scholarship Duration: The grant is valid for the academic year 2016-2017 and may not be deferred.

 Recipients must submit a report at the end of the academic year. 50% of the grant will be awarded at the beginning of the project and 50% at the end, upon
presentation of original receipts and on condition of fulfilling the scholarship requirements:
-Master theses: the grant is dependent on the recipients conducting field research in the region. Please note that recipients are expected to acknowledge the support of the “Kuwait Program at Sciences Po” on their Master Thesis and further related publications and to submit a copy of the thesis to the KSP Team.
-Internships: the second half of the grant is dependent on obtaining the positive feedback of the internship supervisor at Sciences Po, at the end of the first semester.

Scholarship covers:  Each selected student is awarded up to 5,000 Euros. The purpose of the KSP Mobility Grant is to provide a contribution towards travel and living expenses related to a student project taking place in countries of the Arab World or the Gulf Region. The grant is dependent on the recipients completing the project as presented in their application. A change of project or Master thesis topic may lead to the withdrawal of the grant.

The Kuwait Program at Sciences Po (KSP) is a partnership between Sciences Po and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS).

Working together, the two institutions are supporting research and teaching in the social sciences and the humanities with special emphasis on the study of the Arab World and the Gulf Region.

The 2015 KSP Mobility Grants program supports projects of Sciences Po students in countries of the Arab World and the Gulf Region with the objective of enhancing their experience in the region.

These projects may take different forms, including studies at a partner university, internships or field research in the region.

Every year multiple grants of up to 5,000 Euros each will be awarded on the basis of candidates’ excellent academic records and coherence of their project.

Eligibility


‣ Sciences Po students of all nationalities may apply for 2015 KSP Mobility Grants program

 
‣ Student projects must take place in a country of the Arab World or the Gulf Region.


‣ Both undergraduate and graduate students at Sciences Po may be eligible for the KSP Mobility Grant:
Sciences Po undergraduate students: Eligible students are those who are enrolled in the Undergraduate College of Sciences Po, from all campuses, who will be in their third year in 2015-2016 and who are planning to do an internship in the Spring 2015 in the Arab World or the Gulf Region.


‣ Sciences Po graduate students: Eligible students are those who are enrolled in a master’s program at Sciences Po and who will be in the second year of their master’s in 2015-2016:
-Master students in all disciplines planning to write a Master thesis in the Spring 2015 and to conduct field research in the Arab world or the Gulf region.


‣ Master students planning to complete an internship in the region in the Spring 2015.

‣ Proposed projects must validate a course of study at Sciences Po. 

‣ Gap year projects are not eligible for the grant.

Selection Criteria for 2017 KSP Mobility Grants

‣ Grants will be awarded on the basis of candidates’ excellent academic records and coherence of their project.

Notification for 2015 KSP Mobility Grants

‣ Results will be announced around the end of December 2016.

Scholarship Application Method 

 To apply, To apply, please send the following materials to the Kuwait Program Assistant, Fatima Iddahamou, at:

fatima.iddahamou@sciencespo.fr with ‘KSP Mobility Grant Application Spring 2017’ in the subject line. 

  • CV in English.

  • A cover letter in English of 1000 words (indicating in which program at Sciences Po you are enrolled on and detailing your proposed project) addressed to the members of the joint selection committee.

  • Copy of the official academic transcripts for the entire length of your studies at Sciences Po
-Two letters of reference from professors, written in English. To ensure confidentiality, these letters should be sent by the professors directly to the KSP Assistant by e-mail.

  • A one-page budget proposal including a provisional timeline.

  • For internship applicants only, please also provide:
-A letter from the company where you will be interning confirming the internship offer.

  • For master thesis applicants only, please also provide:
-A five-page presentation of your research project, including an abstract of 300 words maximum.

‣ Scholarship Applications are due on 31 October 2016.
