These are available for highly qualified applicants for research within the Faculties of Science, Life Sciences and Arts, Humanities and Social Science.

Eligibility

‣ 2015 International Research Studentships Funding is only open to international (non-EU) candidates.

Notification:

‣ Successful candidates will notified via a formal studentship award letter by 1st May 2015.

‣ Please note that this is provided separately from any Offer of Admission and will be subject to standard checks for eligibility and other criteria.

‣ if you have not received a formal studentship funding offer by 1st May 2015 this will indicate that you have not been successful in this competition.

‣ Where a candidate is successful in being awarded funding, this will be confirmed via a formal studentship award letter which is provided separately from any Offer of Admission and will be subject to standard checks for eligibility and other criteria.

Scholarship Application Method

‣ As a first step, you will need to submit an application for admission to a PhD in your chosen subject via our online admissions portal

‣ In the ‘Scholarships applied for’ box which appears within the Funding Section of your on-line application, you must quote ‘International Research Studentship Competition’ in order for your application to be considered in this competition.

‣ Upload a summary of your proposed research and any relevant skills or experience. Your research proposal should indicate which of the research themes listed above it relates to, justifying the fit of the research to this theme.

‣ If you only wish to be considered for the full studentship, selection of a theme is not obligatory but you will increase your chances of being awarded funding if your research can be considered for both a full ‘prize’ studentship and a fees-only studentship.

‣ The research proposal should be a maximum length of 500 words excluding references. The research proposal is an important element of the funding decision; you may wish to consult the Graduate School’s guidance on writing a research proposal and/or your proposed supervisor.

‣ Scholarship Applications are due on 3oth January 2015.

‣ Application forms and guidelines can be download from the official website

‣ It is important to read the application procedure, and visit the official websites (link found below) for detailed information on how to apply for this scholarship.
