Broadcast Education Association is inviting applications for broadcasting scholarships for academic year 2015-2016. Scholarships will be awarded for full-time degree work for full academic year. The BEA Founders Awards are for students enrolled in a BEA 2-Year/Small College member institution or graduates of these programs now enrolled in a BEA 4-Year Institution. Award No: BEA administers fourteen scholarships annually, to honor broadcasters and the electronic media profession.

Scholarship Duration: Scholarships will be awarded for full-time degree work for full academic year. One semester grants are not made.

Scholarship covers: Walter S. Alter Patterson Award-Two scholarships; $1,750 each
Alexander M. Tanger Award: One scholarship; $5,000
Bea Founders Award: Two scholarships; $1,500 each
Abe Voron Award: Two scholarships; $5,000 each
Vincent T. Wasilewski Award: One scholarship; $4,000
John Bayliss Scholarship Award: One scholarship; $2,000
Richard Eaton Foundation Award: One scholarship; $2,000
Nielsen Co. Scholarship Award: Four scholarships; $2,500

‣ The Broadcast Education Association is the premiere international academic media organization, driving insights, excellence in media production, and career advancement for educators, students, and professionals.

‣ BEA administers scholarships annually, to honor broadcasters and the electronic media profession.

‣ The BEA Founders Awards are for students enrolled in a BEA 2-Year/Small College member institution or graduates of these programs now enrolled in a BEA 4-Year Institution.

All other scholarships are awarded to juniors, seniors and graduate students at BEA Member institutions.

Eligibility

‣ The BEA Founders Awards are for students enrolled in a BEA 2-Year/Small College member institution or graduates of these programs now enrolled in a BEA 4-Year Institution.

‣ All other 2015-2016 BEA National Scholarships are awarded to juniors, seniors and graduate students at BEA Member institutions.

‣ Current scholarship holders are not eligible to reapply in the year following their award.

‣ All scholarships must be applied to study at a campus where at least one department is a BEA institutional member.

Selection Criteria for 2015-2016 BEA National Scholarships

‣ The applicant should be able to show substantial evidence of superior academic performance and potential to be an outstanding electronic media professional.

‣ There should be compelling evidence that the applicant possesses high integrity and a well-articulated sense of personal and professional responsibility.

Scholarship Application Method

‣ All applications are to be send by post.

‣ The forms ask for personal and academic data and transcripts, broadcast and other experience, a written statement of goals, and supportive statements from two references, one of which must be an electronic media faculty member.

‣ Scholarship Applications are due on 14 October, 2014.
