2015-2016 American Chemical Society Organic Chemistry Fellowships in USA , and applications are submitted till May 22, 2015. Fellowships are available for US citizens or green card holders who start their 3rd or 4th year of PhD studies in Fall 2015. Description

The Division of Organic Chemistry plans to award the  2015-2016 American Chemical Society Organic Chemistry Fellowships for Ph.D. students to be held during their third or fourth year of study.

‣ Sponsors of the fellowships awarded for the current academic year are: Organic Syntheses, Organic Reactions, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Amgen.


‣ Applicants must meet all of the following criteria: (1) be starting their 3rd or 4th year of Ph.D. studies in Fall 2015, (2) be US citizens or green card holders, and (3) be members of the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry.

‣ Applications from women and minorities are especially encouraged.

‣ Note, only one applicant per research group will be accepted.

To be eligible for  2015-2016 American Chemical Society Organic Chemistry Fellowships

Fellowships,candidates should:

‣ be starting their 3rd or 4th year of Ph.D. studies in Fall 2015

‣ be US citizens or green card holders

‣ be members of the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry.

‣ Applications from women and minorities are especially encouraged. Note, only one applicant per research group will be accepted.

Scholarship Application Method

‣ The student candidate should complete the Application Form (note DOC membership of the applicant and Ph.D. thesis advisor/nominator are both required). 

‣ Then, the candidate's Ph.D. thesis advisor should then submit 

  1. the completed application form An application form (DOC_FellowApplication.doc) completed by the applicant with details about the applicant's background and training. and
  2. Three letters of recommendation(the Ph.D. advisor's and two others) ,each as a separate pdf file (pdf file names should include the applicant's last name as part of the file name) using the Online Submission Form–login required (use ACS Login credentials)

Please use the title "DOC graduate fellowship –nominee’s name" for all e-mail correspondence related to the nomination.

Evidence of research accomplishment will be an important factor in the selection of the fellowship holders.

Please note: There is no longer an essay requirement for this fellowship program.

‣ The other two letters of recommendation should be sent directly by the other recommenders to doc.graduatefellowship@gmail.com.

‣ Please use the title “DOC graduate fellowship –nominee’s name” for all e-mail correspondence related to the nomination.

‣ Scholarship Applications are due on May 22, 2015.
