2014 Academic Internship Program For International Students in USA , and applications are submitted till November 5, 2014. Washington State University is inviting applications for The International Center Internship Program for Spring session. Internship employs student volunteers to assist in the day-to-day operations of the International Center. Internships are offered for the positions of Events Planning & Programming, Marketing & Communication, Friends & Family Program Manager, Campus Friends Program Manager, Engage the World Program Manager. Both international and domestic students to gain experience working in an environment that promotes cross-cultural awareness and diversity education. The internship is a semester-long commitment and all interns are expected to dedicate 10+ hours per week to performing their duties in the International Center. Full details:

Field(s): The International Center Internship Program helps to assist in the day-to-day operations of the International Center. Internships are offered in the following positions:
Events Planning & Programming:-
-Plan and oversee Coffee Hour, which includes preparation and ‘day-of’ supervision of the program
-Assist IC, International Students’ Council (ISC), and International Programs (IP) staff and students with programming and events planning and represent the International Center on various program/events committees
Marketing & Communication:-
-Lead efforts on all press releases and media relations for the International Center, which also includes submitting relevant materials to WSU Announcements
-Coordinate, create and disseminate International Center publications (brochures, posters, fliers, resource guides, and other relevant resources)
Friends & Family Program Manager:-
-Coordinate and administer the logistics of matching international students with community members
-Maintain correspondence and records of application materials, e-mails, information requests, etc. related to the Friends and Family Program
Campus Friends Program Manager:-
- Coordinate and administer the logistics of matching international students with domestic students
-Maintain correspondence and records of application materials, e-mails

, information requests, etc. related to the Campus Friends and Language Partners Programs
Engage the World Program Manager:-
-Coordinate and administer the logistics of matching international students or returning students from study abroad with forums in which presentations or seminars that demonstrate culture can be given
-Maintain correspondence and records of application materials, e-mails, information requests, etc.related to the Engage the World Program

The academic internship program at the International Center is designed to serve as an opportunity for both international and domestic students to gain experience working in an environment that promotes cross-cultural awareness and diversity education.

The International Center Internship Program employs student volunteers to assist in the day-to-day operations of the International Center, as well as to continue the development of the many programs that are integral to the IC’s mission and long-term goals.

The internship program encourages students to develop skills that will make them more marketable in an increasingly global society.

The 2014 Academic Internship Program also seeks to educate student participants on global topics and emphasizes the increasing local/global interconnectedness of our global village.

Eligibility

To be eligible for 2014 Academic Internship Program, candidates could be

‣ both International and Domestic Students can apply to gain experience working in an environment that promotes cross-cultural awareness and diversity education.


‣ Open for Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Graduate Student.
